A Phenomenological study on the employment experience of the mentally ill in the social enterprises

Abstract
The study examined employment experience in the social enterprises in in-depth way by using phenomenological methods. And the study investigated directions for social enterprises that is an alternative of economic self-support of the mentally ill. The subject was six persons with mental illness from three certified social enterprises for more than six months, The study conducted in-depth interview of the mentally ill from May 2012 to September 2012. As a result, three constituents were found. . The participants mentioned that they had difficulties at being employed because of mental illness, and that they were unable to be employed continuously. However, social enterprises could consider factors that profit companies were unable to keep employment, and they supplemented the factors systematically to keep labor satisfactorily. Thus, they could recover physical and mental health, experience growths and find out values of the life. The study suggested directions of the social enterprises that could produce job opportunity for people with mental illness.
